All SPDL Inc. programs are delivered by volunteers.... Without our volunteers there would be no SPDL!!. The volunteers are the links between the clients, SPDL Inc. and the community. The Committee of Management (also voluntary) is responsible for ensuring that the policies and the philosophy of the organisation reflect that volunteers are valued, are aware of their rights and responsibilities and have appropriate training to do the job effectively.
SPDL has vacancies for the following positions:
If you would like to become a volunteer please contact SPDL Inc. office. Volunteers are interviewed to ensure their skills fit the position description. Volunteers are asked for 2 referees and also to undergo a police check. They are then appointed according to the assessment of their skills, the relevance of information gained in the reference check and in the police check.
SPDL volunteers are provided with mentoring, with individual support and with orientation and training in a friendly informal environment. There are regular driver meetings, which encourage volunteers to share ideas, experiences and concerns, social get togethers, newsletters and opportunities to be involved in the DayLinks community
SPDL provides comprehensive training about the organization, the program, the clients, volunteering, occupational health and safety, manual handling and driving techniques. Volunteers are offered opportunities to be part of a wider training program provided by the Department of Human Services, HACC program.
